                        SEQUENTIAL LISTING OF SIGNIFICANT EVENTS

          3 Jan 1991            ARAMCO employees from the Dhahran, Saudi
                                Arabia area treated the Ilth Marines to a
                                picnic at the Regimental Forwar-d Logistics
                                Base (FLB).

          4Jan 1991             Ist Battalion, llth Marines Headquarters and
                                Battery A, 1/11, arrived in country and moved
                                into Camp 3, Al Jubail. Batteries H and I,
                                3/14, who flew over with 2nd Marine Division,
                                were )oined to the battalion.

          B Jan 1991            Task Force Papa Bear, Ist Marines (Rein),
                                conducted a TEWT. 5/11 answered calls for
                                +ire even though 1/11 will provide Direct
                                Support to Papa Bear when they are -Fully
                                capable. 5/11 has a nonstandard tactical
                                mission of answering calls for +ire from Papa
                                Bear while remaining in General Support.

          9 Jan 1991            BGen Myatt, the Ist Marine Division Commanding
                                General, and BGen Draude, the Assistant
                                Division Commander, led a stimulating
                                discussion on the mission of the Ist Marine
                                Division. Battalion Commanders, Executive
                                Officers and Operations Officers -From all five
                                battalions (except 3/12 who was represented by
                                their S-3) attended. The CS remained
                                overnight and departed early t,.he next morning.

          12 Jan 1991           Ist Battalion moved to the field today with
                                two batteries: H, 3/14, and E, 2/12 which was
                                previously attached to '3rd Battalion, Ilth
                                Marines. 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines also
                                moved to the -Field with battery 1, 3/14.
                                Batteries B, 1/10, and F, 2/10 wil) arrive
                                from Okinawa later in the month.


          13 Ikn 1991           HeadqLtar'lers, 3rd Battalion, 12th Marines,
                                Battery B, 1/10, and Battery F, '/IC), arrived
                                in country and moved into Camp 3, Al Juball.

          15 Jan 1991           Ilth Marines celebrated St. Barbara's Day for
                                the battalion COs, XOs, S-3s, and S-4s. New
                                members were inducted into the honorable order
                                of St. Barbara by the regimental commander.

          17 Jan 1991           The war is on. Operition Desert Storm begins
                                with the air campaign at 0300 local time.
