PLANS
Four division fire support plans (attached) were published
during January and February. These plans accompanied maneuver
plans which transitioned lst MarDiv from a defensive posture along
the Saudi coast to its attack through the obstacle belts west of
the Al Wa-Frah oil field.

enabled the division force operating adjacent to the Saudi -
VLtwaiti "elbow" to fall back toward the division's main defensive
areas while facilitating the uncoordinated attack of enemy -Forces
penetrating the division sector. A consolidated division list of
targets ba%ed on terrain targeting accompanied the fire plan.
A fourth fire support plan was published or. 171200C Feb 91 to
support division Frag Order 1-91 (Operalion Desert Storm). The.
