            LETTER OF INSTRUCTION (LOI) FOR HEADQUARTERS BATTALION NBC PLAN

                        b. Coordinate with Communications Company for
            further communications support to continue operations in a
            contaminated environment.

                        C. Coordinate with BAS to establish area for
                    contaminated casualties.

                    3. Company Commanders and Section--leaders.

                        a. Ensure all Marines initiate individual
            protective measures and conduct individual decontamination
            whenever necessary.

                        b. Upon hearing the NBC alarm, ensure all personnel
            don proper protective clothing and are evacuated to designated
            assembly areas per appendix (1).

                        C. It is mandatory that an on site muster is
            performed in the assembly areas to ensure accountability of
            personnel.

                        d. Ensure a completion message is relayed to the
            HqBn Operations Center upon completion of the on site muster.

                        e. Coordinate with the Battalion operations officer
            for decontamination operations.

                        f. on command, be prepared to assist in
            decontamination operations.

                     4. HqBn      P@rso

                        a. Maintain up to date records of personnel
            accounted for to ensure all hands are counted.

                        b. Upon completion of Battalion muster, inform the
            Bn Operations Center, who will inform the Battalion XO.

            4. Administration and-Logistics.

                A. During an attack, all personnel will immediatly perform
            Individual Protective Measures.

                B. The Battalion operations center will initiate
            decontamination operations once the persistency, type of agent,
contamination have been determined.

                C. Contaminated units will perform decontamination with
            technical assistance from the Battalion operations center.

                D. All morning reports must be kept up to date to ensure
            proper accountability is availab'@e in the event of an attack.
