            LETTER OF INSTRUCTION (LOI) FOR HEADQUARTERS BATTALION NBC PLAN

                E. The Headcfuarters Commandant will be immediately informed
            of any attack.

                F. The Headquarters Battalion Operations Center will
            maintain coordination with the DSAOC throughout any attack.

            5. Command and Signals.

                a. The Battalion operations Center will be located in the
            Headquarters Battalion S-3/S-4 tent unless there is danger of
            contamination in this area. In this case the Operations Center
            will be held from the Operations Center bunker.

                b. The primary alarm for a Chan/Bio attack will be through
            the UIQ-10 P.A. System (intermittent siren). Secondary alarm
            will be trough Metal on Metal alarms located throughout the
            camp. Any objects of metal may be used to augment actual metal
            NBC alarms.

                c. The Marine who first detects an attack will immediately
            don and clear their mask and sound the alarm. They will then
            brief the Battalion Operations Center watch officer on the
            attack.


                d. Upon attack the Battalion Operations center will
            immediately report the attack to Division NBC with a NBC 1
            report.
