                 e. Personal Effects of Deceased.

                      (1) U.S. Military Personnel. In the theater of
                 operations, normally, a theater effects depot will be
                 established in the rear area and operated by GRREG
                 personnel. Effects are evacuated from the component
                 service depots to the theater effects depot for disposition
                 out of the theater.


                      (2) U.S. Civilians. Process in the same manner as for
                 U.S. military personnel.

                      (3) Allied military personnel. Process in the same
                 manner as for U.S. military personnel except the personal
                 effects custodian will return the effects to a
                 representative of the allied government concerned, or store
                 the effects until such arrangements can be made.

                      (4) Enemy Personnel. Process in the same manner as
                 for U.S. military personnel, except the personal effects
                 depot will temporarily store the effects pending receipt of
                 disposition instructions from Chief JCGGRO.

                      (5) U.S. Personnel, missing or captured. The personal
                 effects custodian will temporarily store the effects
                 pending the receipt of disposition instructions from Chief
                 JCGRO.

                      (6) Unknowns. Process in the same manner as those of
                 other deceased U.S. military personnel.

             3. FIELD SERVICES.

                 a. Responsibilities. The XVIII Abn Corps provides limited
             field services to Corps units. 377th TAACOM will provide
             backup support to the Corps and Direct Support to those units
             located in areas behind the Corps rear boundary.

                 b. Scope. Contingency echelons above Corps field services
             are split i@to two groups - essential and nonessential.

                      (1) Essential services include airdrop and GRREG.

                      (2) Nonessential services include Clothing Exchange
                 and Bath (CEB) and laundry services. Echelon above Corps
                 field service units will be geared to support echelon above
                 Corps units, and will also be prepared to respond to the
                 Corps when required. Whenever possible, echelon above
                 Corps elements will utilize resources indigenous to the
                 contingency area in providing services.
