              1. (U) Memorandum is stating an intent in FY90 to procure an
              additional                              nthrax vaccine, sufficient cruantitv to
              vaccinate e                             soldiers. In PY88,
              procured. The              r 11 obi     ective is to obtain su icien anthrax
              vaccine to IMMU 2 e a                                                               his was a
              number tentative y agreed upon between DAMO-SWC (Dr. Boyle/
              LTC Miller) and DASG-HCD/HCL during 6 May 89 meeting. Personnel from
              DASG-RDZ, SGPS-PSP, USAMMDA, and USAMMA were also present.

              2. @ Anthrax is a validated biological warfare agent threat in the
              DCSINT approved Worldwide Biological Warfare Agent Threat List
              (18 Dec 89) and the Medical Mission Area Threat Document.







              3. (U) The anthrax vaccine will have an indefinite shelf-life. The
              vaccine will be stored in bulk by the manufacturer under carefully
rage conditions and tested periodically for potency. AS
              long as potency is proven, the vaccine remains viable. This vaccine
              will only be used in time of conflict or unusual situations during
              peacetime.
