         Laboratory Support Requirement for Operation Desert Shield (U)


             e. @ Assemble all equipment and supplies required to perform
         polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests for botulinum toxin.
         Reagents for this test may be obtained from Porton Down, UK.
         Request an evaluation be made on the reliability of these reagents
         from Porton Down. The PCR package will be sent to the 996th Lab
         VA. Lab Chief of Microbiology of the 996th Lab VA is familiar with
         PCR methodology.
