                                Chemical Decon Information

           1. Al Khanjar is the primary area for decontamination of aircraft
           and personnel (to include casualties if necessary).

           2. The primary means for transporting chemical contaminated madevacs
           is by surface vehicle.

           3. If chemical casualty bags are used, contamination should be
           minimal

           4. Most medevac personnel will be decontaminated prior to being
           loaded on halos.

           5. Average time to decon aircraft is 40 minutes.

           6. Should be able to hasty decon vehicle with 20 gallons of water.
           We decon only the part(s) of aircraft that is contaminated.

           7. Primary concern of aircraft contamination is the inside.

           8. Exterior of aircraft will usually not be contaminated unless it
           is parked when hit. Skids, tires and underbelly is possibly
           contaminated when entering a contaminted zone. Dust kicked up by
           rotors can be contaminated but usually is blown off in flight.

           9. Crew chiefs can reduce possible contamination by:

              a. Use of M8/M9 detector paper.

              b. Sweeping out Sand.

              C. If situation permits, have passengers remave footcovers prior
           to entering the aircraft.
