G-2: .We have not seen thaty NsCrL Fcl aEmDe up'a day or so ago.
We have looked at that and have not seen equipment moving back
    into that area.

GEN BOOMER: where is CENTCOM getting that from, do you think?

G-2: I don't know, sir. We will give a call and check that out.

    GEN BOOMER: All right.

G-3 AIR: morning, sir. MAG-11 flew 20 sorties yesterday in
support of the Division. VMFA-333 and 451 conducted successful
    four-plane strikes into Areas 13, 14, 20 and 21 and 23, five
conducted with Bahrainian defense force F-16's. 231's main body
arrived - and I'd like to refer to the map, to what's been called
    Operation Eastern EXit, the neo.

Right now, the information we have, sir, is the current
location of the Trenton and the Guam, here in SOAs at 18 knots.
The latest information we have is the French and Kenyan embasies
have been overrun and the U.S. Embasy is taking fire. CINCCENT
-- we got a call this morning to say the latest proposal by
NAVCENT, which they think will be approved, is taking two of our
C-130's, positioning them in Mombasa today to be in position to
refuel two 53 Echos off the Trenton that will launch 450 miles
out, refuel them going in to the Embasy at Mogadischu and
continue on to Mombasa. Air Force 130's will be down in Mombasa,
staging out there for gunship support, and a CENTCOM command
element team will be in Mombasa today.

The 53-E can actually make this trip unrefueled, but they
wouldn't be able to go much further other than that, so they will
refuel them and they could make the trip, depending how long they
spent on the ground, all the way down to Mombasa.

GEN BOOMER: When will the two ships be within normal operating
range for helos, at what point; day after tomorrow?

    COL : 1600 tomorrow, sir.

G-3 AIR: And the Guam has two Frog squadrons on it, and the
Trenton has two UH-IN's, no Cobras. That's all I have.

G-3 GROUND: Nothing significant to report in ground operational
activity from yesterday, sir. I do have the results from the 7th
marines TOW firing string. In day firing, the 7th Marines fired
51 missiles and had 35 hits, for a hit percentage of 83. There
were nine malfunctions. The malfunction rate was 17.5 percent.
Night fire, 46 fired, 32 hits, for a hit percentage of 82. Seven
malfunctioned, or a percentage of 15.2.

Live fire yesterday, sir, at Shepherd Range continued its
live fire and maneuver training. At Devil Dog/Dragoon Range,
Ripper continued three-day live fire shoot and the Brits fired
line charges and demo. Thunderbolt, 10th Marines continue
    calibration fire.
