transportation for a "return to duty" patient, contact the
Casualty Assistance Office, MSgt Everest @ 9201-161 or
341-5503 (commercial).

B. Medical evacuation Procedures
1. The Marine Liaison staff maintains-a medevac log book.
When informed by Medical Regulating personnel that a service
member is pending medevac, appropriate notations are made in
logs and a status change to "PENDING MEDEVAC" is reported for
service member and given to the Medical Regulators. Using
points of contacts (POC's) provided by the MSC'S, the Marine
Liaison will pass a message to the patient's unit for a unit
representative to "prep" him for Medevac. This involves:
a. Recovery, by the unit, of weapons, ammunitions, and
all 782 gear except 'field mask (field mask must accompany
patient during Medevac);
b. Delivery of patien@l's seabag and personal effects to
Marine Liaison (limit 1 seabag and 1 carry on bag) to

to I MEF, Caso and Perso on the next hospital report. All
medical evacuees make at least one intermediate stop at a
military hospital, ordinarily in Germany. When mass
casualties occur this could expand to include hospitals in
