or G-1 on a list of CINC requirements to plus up their J-2 staff
up there which has been going outside our chain, and we have not
seen them and it's causing a lot of hate and discontent back in
the rear, sir. That's all for this point, sir.
COL HASTINGS: You mean at HQMC?
LTCOL BRUNN: Yes, sir.
COL REDLIN: Sir, it appears that Headquarters, FMFEUR Designate
has really grabbed this hospital liaison requirement. You
probably saw the message on the board this morning that indicates
they will have, in place by the 6th of January, two NCOs at each
one of the current pre-hostilities, peacetime hospitals in
Germany, and they are going to have the capability to expand upon
that once we go to a wartime footing; so it appears they really
have a handle on it. And we are going to send a master gunnery
sergeant up there to talk to them, go with them during the 24,
25, 26 December time frame and do liaison with them; then we will
send a rep up there once a month to the hospitals to keep a pulse
on them, make sure we know where our people are.
The 395 aug-mentees for the command element, Division,
Wing and FSSG, Ilya going to stop briefing it because there was
another change yesterday. HQMC and II MEF command element are
still not sure between the two fo them who will provide that
augmentation, so it's back into the neutral position.
There is a briefing and meeting this afternoon in regard
to EPWs. I say that for the benefit of the G-4 and the FSSG and
the provost marshal, to discuss the EPW concept.
We have, inbound, a lieutenant colonel, a major and a
master sergeant to do facilities, so now the G-4 can got back to
operational logistics; and there is a master sergeant who is
inbound to compliment the aviation ordnance officer that you just
got. He's due in here in about another ton days.
Also in regard to what the G-2 briefed, we have talked to
Col Lloyd from the monitor section of HQMC. Apparently they have
received a P-For which there's three things they are upset about.
First of all, they received a personnel augmentation request via
P-For - that was number one. Number two, was it identified
people by name that they wanted; and number three, the thing that
upset them was they wanted to fill the intelligence billets, but
they were asking for people who had a background in such things
as engineering and infantry and so forth.
COL HASTINGS: This was a CINCCENT P-For?
COL REDLIN: So consequently, I'll be talking to then today,
trying to sort out what exactly they are looking for.
GEN BOOKER: Keep me out of that one; will you? I got enough
problems.
