                                               Locistics


             Numerous HMMWV's had alternator bracket/bolt problems. Soares were not to be
         had thru the supply svstem. On 7 February. 3d Battalion. 10th Marines provided
         sample bolts and brackets to DSO for the ourpose of fabricatina some in the
         civilian community. These fabrications were received on 9 Februarv and 5 HMMWV's
         immediately came up.

             Followina the artillery raid on 12 February, the battalion was resupplied with
         376 DPICM and  192 RAP. An 804 round soecial issue of artillery ammunition was
         authorized bv the Reoimental Commander to brina the battalion up to max carrving
         capacity. On   16 February, onlv 265 RAP of the 804 total authorized were oicked up
         at ASP-4 (Kibrit) due to administrative errors in the extensive chain of
         command for ammunition resupply reauests.

             On 17 Februarv an actual medivac was conducted for a Marine with aodendicitis.
         The battalion received all outstandina 2-PAM Chloride and CIPRO/NAPP oills on 20
         and 22 Februarv respectively.

             A drive shaft for the M49 Refueler was finallv received which brolicht it off
         the deadline list. On 22 February, all oas cans. water cans, canteens. water bulls
         and refuelers were tooped off in preparation for the around offensive. On the
         evenina of 23 Februarv the Combat Train which include@ three wreckers. two M49
         refuelers. two 5-tons with sixcon pods (total capacity 4200 oallons of diesel). and
         eiaht LVS's of artillery ammunition for the preparation fires. crossed the border
         into Kuwait.


             On 24 February, the battalion left 105 and 565 rounds on the deck in Batterv
or to dis'Dlacina throuah the
         breach. Four bulldozers and one TRAM (flat tire) were left in oosition. but five
         additional LVS's of artillery ammunition were taken throu(3h the breach.

             Three LVS's unloaded their ammunition at the firine batteries on 25 Februarv.
         These same vehicles were sent south to pick uo the ammunition left on the deck and
         returned with 565 rounds. Refuelers and water bulls were tooped off at DSO-2 on 26
         Februarv after thev failed to oush the resupplv forward to us for two davs in
         succession.
