yellowish tent bc it throws such a glare its almost unbearable.
* Mll. Not real pleased with the employment of the Mll. I know
its a good handy piece of gear. But bc of possible leakage and DS2
makes it a hazard and being so f lammable anyway. I dont have a
solution to that problem at all. Other than a mounting bracket or
something coming out with these HMMWVs to way the way these things
were mounted in a specif ic point other than laying down, they
should upright and possibly outside in case there does become a
leak than it wont become hazardous to the individual riding inside
the vehicle. There is no guidance, that I know of, for mounting
the Mll. It was for the jeep and not so much for the HMMW. if
there is I dont know of it. They said use what you can. Use teh
mounting, cant drill into the vehicle itself so they want you to
use places insides the vehicle that have already been drilled out
so almost all are in a lay down position. We leakers but
that was the guidance came down watch out for leakers. We had ours
RGS2 for almost 2 months and it never did leak. But the possiblity
for a leak was there and that was a big major concern. Didn't like
the way we had to fill these things. Toxic fume. My guys wore gas
masks and had papers on and gloves but it mades such a mess. THE
Cam, is slops all over and its hard to open a container. it
came out bc of the water problem that we were faced with and it was
a problem for decon all the way through CFSD resupplying us with
water when we are very limited in our water. So used chlorox
bleach. I f ind that is being dif f erent percentages f or chem
e you are going to have to add bleach anyway and
also decon of equipment personnel. Prefer to stay with the clorox
bleach. If it goes bad on you just rinse it down with water and
dilute it and wont have to worry about a big hazard.
* We didn't get to employ the M13s. I issued them out to each one
of the lines, tracks did not get to use those and I thought those
were a good piece of gear. But it is not good for giving out to a
line company. Problem with line companies issuing out all these
gears such as radiac instruments, morphine kits, bleach, DS2,
everything I had issued the company gunny he has one vehicle if
they had to do a mobile. It would have been a gunny's
nightmare - bogging him down with alot of NBC gear plus you have
gel and water and amo he has to concern himself of.
* My biggest heartache I've had since I've been over here other
then those minor things which we can live with that has probably
been transportation. Not having assets to an infantry Bn for NBC
they would take my asset bec we have limited amo, VAS and all the
other commodity sections that need to gear up as well as myself.
So they would actually come to a pause and dump my stuff and go
back and make another room. I honestly feel that the infantry Bn
should be given at least one possibly two and a HMMWV. The
reason I say a HMMWV is bc if we go MEC I have myself or my NBC MCO
and four track and the main track with the main COC I would have
either myself or one of my NBC guys. Then I have to worry about
trying to get my third person transportation which normally rides
in three vehoile which is usually jam packed with (cruise) gear.
So if I had a vehcile I could set it up as a control center
ehcile. Prepared to do any overlay or walk along with teh main
command elements and make sure everything is done, you know
