                             .IV,- MORTARS, RPG, RECOILESS RIFLES..

             1. General. Iraq has a variety of mortars ranging in size from
60mm-240mm using conventional ammunition. Priority of destruction
is the mortar tubes or rifle barrels. Intelligence has reported
that Iraq has developed a chemical round for the RPG-7 grenade for
use against armor vehicles. Exercise extra caution when handling
RPG rounds. Do not destroy chemical rounds report them to higher
             headquarters immediately.

             2. Destruction of mortars,RPG and recoiless rifles with
             conventional munitions.

                 a. Drop one, or two depending on tube size, the--mite grenades
down the mortar tube. Objective: Destroy tube and firing pin.

                 b. Place I M112,C4 block across the base of the mortar
tube. Objective: Sheer off firing pin assembly at the base of
the tube. Note: The use of TNT instead of C4 will require a 50%
increase in explosive weight of TNT to obtain an equivalent
             effect.

             3. Destruction of mortars, RPG and recoiless rifles using
             unconventional methods.

                 a. Pile weapons and spread diesel fuel or diesel fuel/oil
mixture on weapons and ignite. Pile should be away from other
flammable materials. Unserviceable tires can also be placed on
pile to increase the temperature and burn time of the fire.

                 b. Run over weapons with a vehicle. Weapons with
interchangeable barrels, the point where the barren connects to
the receiver should be centered under the vehicle wheel or track.
This will insure the undamaged barren can not be mated to the
weapon. Attempt to place the weapons on a hard surface before
             running over them.
