3. Destruction methods using conventional munitions.
a. With ammunition onboard, place at least two M112, C4
blocks on the ammunition in the ammunition rack located inside the
turrent. Objective: Detonate remaining ammunition resulting in
secondary fires and rendering the tank inoperative.
b. Without ammunition onboard, place at least two M112,C4
blocks around the hinges on the breech block assembly.
objective: Warp or destroy the breech block assembly.
Note: The use of TNT instead of C4 will require a 50% increase in
explosive weight of TNT to obtain an equivalent effect.
C. With or without ammunition onboa--d, remotely ignite
inside the breech at least three thermite grenades taped together
and close the breech. Note: breech may have to be partially open
to allow complete burning. objective: Weld breech closed and
destroy gun tube.
d. With ammunition onboard, remotely ignite at least three
thermite grenades taped together and placed in the ammunition
rack. objective: Generate enough heat to cause an HE fire and
detonate the remaining ammunition destroying the interior of the
tank.
e. open the engine compartment and place at least two M112,C4
blocks on the top center line of the engine. objective: Destroy
engine.
f. Destroy tank with direct fire from another tank or
anti-tank weapon.
NOTE: ALLOW ENOUGH SAFE SEPERATION TIME BETWEEN IGNITION AND
DETONATION OF PLACED CHARGES TO GET AT LEAST 300 METERS FROM TAn
AND UNDER COVER.
