                2nd Plts involvement in Operation Desert Shield Started early
              when a selected 3 man team was sent jver early to Provide
              security for the division assault CP which was the leading
              element of thp division. 3 large warehol-ises in the port of Elamrnan
              where used t@-1 house division soldiers until the equipment arrived
              by boats. The remainder of 2nd plt arrived on 28 Sep 90 again as
              a leading element with the 545th MP Co for- the d4-visic,ns main
              body. A security plan was implemented -:,n 2) Sep 90 and 2nd F'lt
              played an intrical part in the sp,:.,ur-ity of the port area. The
              security included mobile pat@-.-,Is, static post, and entry
              This security mission lasted until 2"-) Cl@t 90 with 2nd pit staying
              behind as the last unit at the port site. At 13()C) on 29 i-j.:!t 90
              2nd plt arrived at the assembly area horse and immediately set up
              and became operational. The rfiissi,-,r, at AA Hor-sp- was one mainly
              focused on 'I-aw enforcement and area security. The patrol area
              included -_:S miles :-f MSR and 45    sql-iare miles of land. 2nd plt
              provided assistance to numerous       Cav soldiers as well as other
              army soldiers during this phase       as the MSR bore many traff i@-
              accidents On 21 Nov 9C) 2nd Plt       was 2hosen to provide area
              security for @;e@reta@-y of State            who addressed the divisions
              On 2@, Elec 90 once again the 2nd     Plt is chosen to rnovp ahead of
              the division t-i help in thp- movement of the division to its new
              assernoly are-a, AA Wendy on the           reservation. 'his mission
              consisted -if route re.:on and convoy escort. 2nd Pl@s Ist '-@,qd
              began -:,peration on 27 Dec c'O to ensure that division elements
              made it through KKMC in the safest most expedient means to the
              release point. As the divisions move to AA Wendy 4n@reased so did
              the military police commitment. On 26 [le-:! 90 Ist '=;qd was joinec.1
              by another 3 man team from 2nd Plt which included thp- Plt Ld@-,
              Thp mission became one -:,f convoy escorts and TCPS. The Plt set up
              approximately 2 miles from the gate at KKMC at a division RCIM
              site. Coordination was made with 'he convoy commander and MP
              escort was Provided to the convoys to the release point. The
              operation continued t-i grow in to a 24 hour operation and the
              remainder of 2nd Plt !indeed up on 6. Ian ')l. On 15 -Ian 91 2nd Plt
              recievpd the mission to get the 2nd Brigade across tapline road
              safely into their battle position. The link up with forward
              elements of 2nd brigade occurred at approximately Otz.CjO 16 -Ian 'r.11,
              The road was effectively blocked and the brigade Proceeded
              unhampered. On 19 @lan 91 2nd Plt sliced to provide direct support
              for the 2nd brigade and arrived at the 15th FSB on that same day.
              Thp mission at the BSA became -ine of the area security in the
              initial Phase. On 26 Jan 91 the lffth ;@SB created and moved its
              FAST, Forward Area Support Team. The FAST was a revived
              from the past that included fuel Hp-mits, amrno haulers, a de,:on
              Plt from (,8th   chern, an ambulance plt, 2nd Plt 545th and
              niscellaneo,-Ls  other units. It was designed tc, be highly mobile
              with the task    forces and provide immediate support. It was
              designed to operate 5 tc- 7 kilometers forward of the BSA. This
              was also to be the location where 2nd Plt would establish its
              forward EPW collection point. On 2'-,) Jan 91 the FAST moved back to
