               missiles; a faulty lot number of A-model missiles had been
               identified duri.-g earlier test-.firing at Jayhawk Range. (This
               later proved to be erroneous, and restrictions on the lot were
               removed).

                   Commande-,S Assessment comments on the low availability of
               aircraft. Brigade Commander must approve all missions except
               for FELLFTRE test-ing and Division @@askings.

                   OH58D's responded to reports of 25 vehicles crossing the
               border in column formation Vic 29deg 00153"N 46deg 56'00"E.
               Two missions were flown during the night of 1-2 FEB (2300-0100
               and 0300-0500 hrs) near WADI AL BATIN. No enemy vehicles were
               discovered. on the evening of 2 FEB, the Division aleo
               reported that five enemy tanks were on the north side of the
               border, Vic N@m 5925. The DMAIN informed us that VII corps gave
               permission to another Division to engage the targets. The
               Brigade TOC informed the attack-battalions in case additional
               support was required.

                   The Brigade formulated its trainig plan for the week of
               2-7 February:

                         1-3 Atk Hel Bn placed one company on a 30-minute
               standby, with two companies on a two-hour standby to screen
               and/or defend the WADI AL BATIN.

                         1-227 Atk Hel Bn completed AH64 weapons systems
               verification and trans'tioned the pilots to reverse cycle.

                         D/227 Avn Co placed OH58D's at the DTAC from
               1800-0600 hrs nightly to execute standby missions. The EH60's
               prepared for on-o.-der missions with 3!2th Ml Bn. General
               support missions continued as normal.

                         E-227Avn Co continued to fly general support

               verification and l@!6/1460 familiarization..

                         The Brigade continued to improve individual and unit
               equipment -readiness as part of pre-co.-ibat preparations.

                   3 FEB: The two attack battalions were fielded with the M17
               "SAANATOR" lightweight decon system. This gave the Brigade a
               I;mi@.ed capabll4l-@y to conduct hasty decontamination
               operations.

                   The E-227cotimander's vehicle was involved in a head-on
               coll@sion with a Saudi vehicle; the driver sustained a
               possible broken hand but no other injuries occ-ared.

                    T-le Brigade also coordinated with the 3!6zh Medical
               Detachment (14EDEVAC) to provide them with SPINS, ACO'S,
