                   24 jP"14: Received Is@, CAV Warn.4.ng Order #3-91 (lst CAV
               establishes a screen along the Kuwaiti border). Received ist
               CAV Warning Order #4-91 (movement of the ist CAV Division).
               Prepare to move north on 26 JAN.

                   25 JAN: Brigade -LOC displaced to AL QUASUMAH airfield.
               Expect revised movement guidance in Warning Order #10-91.
               Units will conduct reconnaissance upon G-3 confirmation of
               Syrian movement. Avoid contact with Syrian units (coordinates
               given). Alerted to possible Iraqi spoiling attack based on
               intelligence indicators. Sources say Iraqi ADA will be weapons
               tight from 1615-1645 and 1715-1745 for high altitude aircraft.
               Expecting Iraqi aviation assets to launch attack. Stinger
               teams alerted.

                   26 JAN: Received lSt CAV EPAGOS #91-11 (2/68 CML Co DS to
               2d Bde), #91-12 (Artillery Raid) and #91-13 (Ilth Avn Bde
               Feint). Avn Bde supports FPAGO #91-12 by assisting DIVARTY
               units in breaking contact. Avn Bde would provide limited
               Combat Search and Rescue (CSAR), emplace a navigation aid and
               assist in FARP site selection in support of FPAGO #91-13.

                   27 JAN: Ar"lillery Raid and ilth Avn Bde Feint postponed.
               DTAC sent changes to FRAGO #91-10 (added phase lines and moved
               location of BP An Khe). Received message from DRAIN: be on the
               lookout for a Jordanian, named Jamal, driving a blue car
               packed with explosives. Last seen vicinity Hafar Al Batin,
               driving towards Kuwait.

                   28 JAN: DVAIN reports that a British drone will overfly
               the lst CAV sector at 0730 hrs. Two British SEA-KING
               helicopters will transit the Is@, CAV area 0730-0800 and
Advise all soldiers to take
               advantage of opportunity for friendly helicopter
               identificat'o- trainiig.

                   30       @io OH58D's placed on standby at @a-AC for possible
               obseff@,,,on of three Iraqi tanks vic PT 567157. 1-3 Atk He! Bn
               is REDCON 2 at 0615 ',.-s. DTAC sends OHSSD to observe
               unidentified explosions vic PT 384101 (2200 hrs).

                   31 JAN: OH58D reports explosions observed vic PT 516173
               (1800 h.-s). One of the cont4n,,iing problems facing the Brigade
               was receiving Special instructions (SPINS) in a timely manner.
               Transponder codes, Restricted operations Zones (ROZ) and other
               critical information was often received late; when they
               arrived it was usually only for one day at a time rather than
               the weekly SPINS usually issued.

                   i February found the Brigade commander, XO and S-4 at a
               DI'vision-level Logistics Sand Table Exercise. The a-tack
               battalions were replacing A-model HELLFIRES with C-model
