         1145         Received a call from MAJ Zeugner, 543d,       Atkinson
                      notified us that MSG Hall, SPC Skinner,
                      and SPC Kelly were involved in a traffic
                      accident while returning from a mail run
                      to Bastogne at approx 20 0230 Jan 91.
                      one soldier suffered from facial
                      lacerations, one is unconscious, one has
                      a broken leg, and one has a possible
                      broken back (don't know who has what).
                      CPT Jarvis and two others have departed
                      for the accident site to retrieve
                      personal items, weapons, and any
                      possible classified material. CPT
                      Shannon and MAJ Zeugner are attempting
                      to locate the injured personnel.
                      Vehicle was a M1009. 542d also reported
                      that the 64th responded to a pipe bomb.
                      Incident was briefed to general staff.
                      Item turned out to be an empty pipe.

         1315         543d - MSG HAll is hosp with facial           Atkinson
                      lacerations and mildly shaken up, will
                      be out of hospital in 1 to 2 days; SPC
                      Kelly is hosp with facial lacerations,
                      hypothermia, and either a fractured or
                      sprained ankle (ankle too swollen to
                      tell) will be in hosp for 2+ days; SPC
                      Skinner shaken up, but OK, he is at the
                      unit again. M1009 totaled. requested
                      info on 52d EOD.

         2215         Received call from SPC Byrd saying unit       Olson
                      across the hall was going to MOPP 4.
                      Heard several booms 3-5 minutes prior.
                      Called LTC Pierson notifying of MOPP
                      level. received call from LT from JSRC
                      notifying of MOPP 4. Received call from
                      the 74th notifying of MOPP 4
