            COMMANDER'S UPDATE

            1. MAJOR SIGNIFICANT ACTIVITIES (LAST WEEK)

                  A. JA team 888th assigned responsibility for GSU 1012.

                  h. CPT Montgomery assigned responsibility for Host Nation
                  Warehouse-KKMC.

                  C. MST III augmented to provide 3 full time SlRs for the
                  Host Nation Warehouse-Hafr Al Batin and-2 full time 91RS for
                  the EPW camps.

                  d. Recon trips to Log Base Alpha continue to show no ration
                  issue,or storage activity. Conflicting reports indicate one
                  plan to close LB Alpha and another plan to gear LB Alpha u     p
                  to full activity.

                  e. COL wesson has visited all inspection activities once
                  and a second visit to Host Nation Warehouse-Hafr Al Batin
                  and the EPW camps has occurred. Commanders of both EPW
                  camps have been contacted.

                  f. At the 301st MP Brigade which is issuing rations for
                  both camps, public health hazards were documented(see
                  attachment). Twenty-four hours later significant
                  improvements had been made. all rations were under cover
                  although pallets were still not available. The area had
                  been policed up. These activities were accomplished using
                  EPW work parties. Plans were to force issue remaining
                  distressed rations.

                  g. The 251st Evac Hospital called to request removal of a
                  feral cat from their mess storage room. The cat had an old
he left foreleg and showed
                  evidence of vomiting and fetid diarrhea. There was no
                  history of bites or scratches. The cat was euthanized and
                  the hospital instructed to clean up the store room area.

                  h. On 24 Feb 1991(G Day) we received a call and.met with
                  COL Kennedy, the 803rd Med Grp Commander, concerning
                  biological intelligence.. The ned lab had reports of
