            3. Summary

The transition to war f or our task organization went like
clockwork. From alert to mobilization and right up to deployment,
everything went by the book. The medical community personnel were
highly motivated and ready to do their job. It's when we got in
country that the aforementioned problems occurred.

                  Most important lessons learned are:

                A. "It's a come as you are war". Completely wrong! Bring
everything, because you probably won't get it there. Especially so
 so if you had it
and were directed not to bring it. Bring it and trade it if you
            have to for something else.

                B. More emphasis has to be placed by Force Planners on getting
medical assets, especially C2 and C3 units in theater earlier.
Bring the doctors in the unit in increments so they don't sit
around with nothing to do. Also, the medical troop deployment
listing, should be coordinated with knowledgeable authority. if
this was done for this campaign, it is highly questionable, as our
assets were chopped and redirected routinely.
