             7. SUMMARY

                  Operation Desert Storm proved to be a short but intensive
             campaign that tested the Group's ability to command and control its
             subordinates in stressful environment.

                  Overall, the Group performed its mission far in excess of
             expectations as has been demonstrated by this and other reports.

                  However, the evacuation and regulating doctrine was only
             marginally tested as a result of the minimal casualties that
             reached our MTFS. It is believed that the intensive training and
             coordination of and by the Group would have resulted in an equally
             similar performance, in spite of the minimum number of HQ personnel
             assigned to this medical mission.

                  This tour of duty has taught us many lessons. One of the most
             satisfying is that our Group has been a mixture of Active, Reserve
             and National Guard soldiers. The  similarities and unity of purpose
             for outweighed the differences. Although the one Army concept is
             not without its flaws, the high quality effort of all made our
             mission a successful one.
