           Iraqi f orward def enses and attacked Iraqi tactical reserves.      A
           SCUD fired at Dhahran reported to have killed 28 and injured 101
           U.S. personnel.

           Feb 27:   ARCENT forces continued operations focused on the rapid
           destruction of the RGFC. lst Marine Division entered Kuwait City
           shortly after midnight. At dawn Kuwaiti Forces marched into the
           City and Kuwaiti and American Flags were raised.         2nd Marine
           Division seized control of Kuwait Airport after drawn out artillery
           battle. Pitched tank battle fought by 7th Corps versus Republican
           Guard Division to northwest near border, Republican Guards escape
           cut off and 7th Corps victorious.

           March    1:   During five days of combat over 10,000 EPWs were
           captured by Corps elements.     Corps focus on clearing remaining
           enemy pockets in zone, consolidating and accounting for personnel,
           conducting resupply actions and processing EPWS.

           March    2:    ARCENT forces continued to observe cessation of
           hostilities, defend in sector, and prepare for possible offensive
           operations. There was no major contact with enemy forces.

           March 3: ARCENT forces continue to consolidate gains and police
           the battlefield and remain ready to resume offensive operations.

           March 4-17:   No significant change as forces remain prepared to
           resume offensive operations if necessary. A unique opportunity to
           examine and obtain captured equipment for technical intelligence
           exploitation and for historical value is present in the KTO.
           Commanders at each echelon are to insure that technical
           intelligence teams supporting ARCENT are given full cooperation.
           ARCENT forces plan redeployment of forces.
