                2.      Numerous biological samples taken bw the 9th Chem Co
                (-) samplina teams in the past two days have tested Anthrax
                positive usina the field "Smart Test". These samples have
                been obtained usina both the XM-2 and the PM10 Cuclone
                samplina devices from several different locations within
                Saudi Arabia. All of the positive Anthrax "Smart Tests" have
                subseauentlu Proven to be neoative (ref c and d) in the TAMLs
                (Theater Area Medical Labs).

                3.      One samole obtained on the evenina of 17 Feb 91 in
                the vicinity of Al Jabaul tested Botulinum positive usinq the
                field "Smart Test". This sample was taken to the Navu TAML
quent lab
                re5ults were inconclusive (ref a). Therefore. this sample is
                currentlu beino prepared for shipment to CONUS.
                4.      One sample obtained from the vicinitu of the MODA
                building an the evenina of the 18th of Feb was also positive
                for BotulinLtM L[Sinci the field "Sffoart Test". This sample is
                beina prepared for shipment to the 85th Evac Hospital and
                C4.)NUS.

                5. @ Discussions with LTCOR Burns and MAJ Dreier (ref a
                and b) have indicated that the problem with the results from
