MEMORANDUM FOR Commander, 22D SUPCOM FWD, ATT
SUBJECT: Preventive Medicine Assistance Visit to KKMC
1. PURPOSE: The purpose of this memorandum is to discuss the
Preventive Medicine Detachment - SWA assistance visit to KKMC.
2. DISCUSSION:
a. Assistance inspections were conducted at the Panzer
Hotel Dining Facility and the wash rack. overall, both sites
were operated in a safe and sanitary manner. Several correctable
findings and recommendations are enclosed for each area.
b. A coordination visit was conducted with COL Roan, Chief
of Staff - KKMC and LTC Mosby, Commander 914th MED. The purpose
of the visits was to discuss the team's capabilities and desires
to support KKMC.
c. Coordination was made with LTC Waller, CEGSWA, to conduct
a possible upper respiratory study. The study would collect
breathing zone samples of inhalable dust. The dust would be
analyzed to determine if there is a health impact on soldiers
deployed in KKMC. The approximate date of the study would be 9-
13 September.
3. CLOSING: Implementing the attached recommendations for the
Panzer Hotel Dining Facility and the wash rack will help maintain
the health of the soldiers. overall, the visit was very
successful. The detachment desires to provide the highest
quality service possible to the units and soldiers deployed at
KKMC.
