5. (U) ACTIVITIES FOR 3 March 1991:
a. Nuclear, Bioloctical, Chemical: on 3 March 1991,
an NBC reconnaissance team from the 513th Military Intelligence
Brigade Task Force, comprised of the Brigade chemical officer,
the 9th Infantry Division Chemical Company and an Arabic
translator from the 202d military Intelligence battalion
investigated a report from the 96th Civil Affairs Battalion of
chemical munitions in the vicinity of TN 199212. The team was
met by SOCCENT personnel who directed the team to a local fire
station. There, the team discovered only six (6) each 60mm high
explosive mortar rounds and instructions on what actions to take
in the event of an incoming chemical attack. From there the team
was directed to a police station in the vicinity of TN 182272,
where the team was met by another SOCCENT team. Found stacked
inside the building was a considerable stockpile of conventional
ammunitions. However, no evidence other than a few protective
masks and some DRA6GOR tubes used to monitor the air for chemical
agents.
b. Special collection Unit: The 513th Military
Intelligence Brigade Special Collection Unit reports no
indications of threats to US interests or coalition forces during
the period of 1800 hours 2 March 1991 to 1800 hours 3 March 1991.
