           CONPLAN 4285-90 (U)


           (U) Reference: Basic CONPLAN
           (U) Time Zone Used Throughout The CONPLAN: Basic CONPLAN.
           (U) Task Organization: ANNEX A (Task organization).

           1. (U) Situation

               a.       This annex provides guidance for the deployment of
           3ID NBC defense equipment and materials to support non-NATO
           military contingencies in AFRICA and the MIDDLE EAST in the event
           operations are carried out in an NBC environment.
               b. (U) Enemy Forces: Annex B (Intelligence).
               C. (U) Friendly Forces: Annex A (Task Organization).

               d. (U) Attachments and Detachments: Annex A (Task
           organization).
           2. (U) Mission. Deploying 3ID units deploys with all organic
           NBC defense equipment and prepares for operations in a
           contaminated environment with the exception of disaster relief
           operations.

           3. (U) Execution.
               a. (U) Concept of the Operation. The deployment operation
           will be conducted in six phases:

                    (1) (U) Phase I. Preparation of NBC defense equipment
           and material for deployment. Units conduct review of MTOE NBC
           equipment requirements and initiate corrective actions.
                    (2) (U) Phase II through VI. See Basic OPORD.

               b.   (U) Coordinating Instructions.
                    (1) (U) Minimum MOPP Level throughout deployment is MOPP
           Level 0.
                    (2) (U) Units will deploy with all organic MTOE chemical
           defense equipment, with the exception of disaster relief
           operations, as well as all CTA-authorized items.
