TAA CAMPBELL - FEBRUARY
On January 24 the TF party :iepiFtrtc@cl fciy- TAA

available at the last moment. There was al.ir)o a shortage of
cargo transport.
On January 25 LAnit-s-bpgan to move towatrds TAA CAMPBELI..,
but a large number of soldiers remained Fit (laysunic-.h to help
move all the equipment.
On January 27 the I'F reported art "Amber" rating because
of the battery shortage. The TF departed CEII on January 10
with a five day supply of batteries, but had not received Eti-iy
batteries through VII Corps supply channels.
As units arrived TAA CAMPBELL they began to build
extremely
rocky and hard. After digging 1-2 feet. down t.@-te soldiers
were forced to build positions above ground level with
sandbags and barrier material.
On January 28 the TF assumed the guard mission for tl-te
division main CP, ammunition holding area (AHA), and ACF'.
On January 29 all three infantry battalions had arrived
the TAA. T@te TF began guarding the Corps rapid refuel point.
Some batteries were received through supply channels, but
there was still an inadequate supply to conjuct dismounted
operations.
On January 31 all the TF soldiers and equipment had
arrived TAA CAMPBELL from Qaysumah. The TF staff continued
refining the future operations plans.
There were two objectives being studied by the 2d BDE TF
staff. The first was Objective STRIKE, Tallil airfield. The
second was Objective (BOLD, arid ammunition storage facility
that was near two main Iraqi highways. Both objectives were

located just south of the Euphrates River. Prior to G
1/602 IN would be attached to the Ist BOE TF while 2/502 IN
would be the 101st DIV 'reserve. On G-Day the lst SDE TF
mission would air assault and seize FOS Cobra, 75 miles
inside of Iraq. The 2d BOE TF(-) would follow into the FOS
