        I. yot, are beina provided the following pieces of equipment-
        Most are intended to prevent you from dying an from becoming
        severely, perhaps permanently ill from diseases prevalent where
        you are going. While these may not look as important to you as
        yoq-t,r weapon, proper, consistent use will truly, for, real, help
        you return home well. They work.

            Water and Food Thveat:


            Water, ice and food available from the economy is almost
        uniformly contaminated with bacteria, viruses, and parasites to
        which you have no immunity.  Typhoid fever and intestinal
        Parasites are common. DO NOT USE LOCAL WATER OR FOOD! IJSE ONLY
        U.S. MILITARY WATER SOURCES AND TAAI(E SURE IT IS HIGHLY
        C14LORINATED (5-10 PARTS PER MILI-ION) DO NOT add Gatorade -lik@.
        or, l@oolaid-lik@ flavoring packets as the idditives contained
        will inactivate the usually protective levels of chlorine. The
        residual chlorine MUST be kept Iiiah.

        inef-fectiv4e- These flies are attracted by unsanitary latrines,
        "wine or fecal waste around your encampment, and food - as welj
        as your- body.
