                                     COMMANDER'S NARRATIVE SUMMARY
                                                (Continued)

          82D SIG: Submitted: 24 Nov 90

Cdr's Commentst As we approach the Christmas season, I am gearing up to fight
the "holiday blues." The Battalion will be busy during December with training
events. To fill in the periods between exercise/support missions, particularly
24-25 Dec, I have created a committee to organize activities that will promote
          holiday spirit.

Cdr's Comments: I am concerned about our unit ammunition, both UBL and
training. The amount on hand for training is far too small. UBLs still need
to be sety aside in the ASP. We are examining breaching doctrine to see how to
fit it to light forces and Iraqi obstacles. We are still awaiting a decision
an who will occupy Panther Base with 3d Bde.

Cdr's Comments: We continue to be critically short of Arabic linguists. This
problem has been evident for several weeks but is more of a problem now owing
to return of 311th and 519th MI BN linguists. At this point in time, we have
15 linguists on hand. We need over 50 to be able to accomplish our mission
          with high standards.
