SUBJ5CTi Administer Convulsant Antidote for Nerve Agent (CANA)
using the Putainjector
1. Purposet To provide guidance on the proper procedures for
administering CANA for buddy-aid.
P-. FACTS.
A. The Convulsant Antidote for Nerve Agent (CANA)
autainjector is issued when there is a threat of nerve agent
exposure stored along with MARK I autoinjectors inside protective
mask carrier.
b. When you come to a casualty to whom you have administered
three sets of MARK I injections or who has three expanded MARK I
autainjectors hooked to the pocket of his/her overgarment, or is
convulsing, you should immediately administer the casualty's own
CANA autoinjector and hook to,packet next to expended MARK I
autoinjector.
c. The CANA is not for use as self aid. If you know who you
area where you are, you moot likely do not need CANA. DO NOT GIVE
CANA TO YOURSELF. IT IS BUDDY-AID.
do Inject CANA in the same way you inject the MARK 1.
1. When a follow soldier needs additional MARK I
injections after having given himself/hortelf their first
injection( severe difficulty breathing, strange and confused
behavior severely pinpointed pupils, red eyes with tearing$ loss
of bladder/bowel control, severe muscle twitching convulsion*,
and or seizures) Immediately give himlher the 2nd and 3rd
injections and THEN THE CANA.
2. If he/she has not received any MARK I injections go
ahead and give all three MARK I injections together with hi%/her
CANA.
a. After injecting buddy with his/her CANA got medical help.
DO NOT USE YOUR OWN CANA ON THE CASUALTY
