C3I ISSUE NO. 23 Employment Site Preparation
(SGHR ITEMS NOs. 203, 223)
DISCUSSION: Site preparation and set up of ATH should be addressed as they
relate to supporting a deployed wing and other services. Few people were
comfortable with the set up process. ACC Reg 400-10 and ATH CONOPS provide
directions on ATH site selection, preparation, and set up. Personnel assigned
to ATHs should be proficient in set up. Effective peacetime training in set up
is needed. No checklists have been developed and no step by step instructions
are available.
RECOMMENDATIONS: ATHs should be exercised with "hands-on" training with the
entire mobility team involved. ACC/SGX should develop a handbook/guide with
step by step instructions on how to set up/take down an ATH.
ACTIONS REQUIRED: Review ATH site selection and set up training requirements
under ACC Reg 400-l0.
ACTIONS COMPLETED: The pilot unit for the ATH (Straw AFB) has developed new
guidance for ATH site preparation, alternate ATH foot prints, and guidance has
been published in ACC Reg 400-10.
STATUS: Closed.
