SUBJECT: Status Report on Biological Warfare (BW) Vaccination and
Defense Program (U)
I. (U) Purpose: To provide update on BW vaccination and defense
program in CENTCOM.
2. (U) Facts:
a. anthrax vaccine is being maintained as the
CENTCOM vaccine reserve for treatment of anthrax exposed service
members (SMs).
b. @ In the first shi ment of anthrax vaccine, there were
sufficient doses fo 1--iiiiii@t3ur- ro aar-e ser%,ice members
(SMs) have received their first of two doses of anthrax vaccine.
CENTCOM was faced with a greater requirement, so they decided to
vaccinate more SM's than they had doses to complete the two week
vaccination series and depend on subsequent shipments.
Administration of the second dose has been started.
c. @ Next shipment of anthrax vaccine
estimated to depart on 30 Jan 91 arriving in the AOR the next day.

measures against potential terrorist use of anthrax in USAREUR and
CONUS. USAF and USN will have to establish their requirements for
procurement.
