Harris would like to stay and make sure the program stays on
course. I asked Karl to get together with MAJ Tynan on what is
needed to ensure the program continues to be a success; a dedicated
team of NCO's only, add one doc, or what? Les Caudle should come
back because of his wife expecting and he is in a residency
program. Les is willing to come back and accompany future
shipments of vaccines to AOR. They will get back to us.

         9. Ciprofloxacin - It will take two more weeks before every
service members will have their blister packs of Cipro. There is a
distribution problem. The Cipro shipment was lost upon arrival.
Karl went out to the air field and found the boxes. More praise
from CENTCOM for Karl. It is very disappointing that there were no
instructions with the Cipro. It is very confusing for the
commanders and everyone unfamiliar with it. Every service member
is a walking pharmacy. Situation needs to be addressed with
CENTCOM's satisfaction. Karl said that he found 42 of 51 boxes. 9
         boxes are still missing.

         10. The came in and were identified, picked up,
and properly stored away. Good news story!

         11. Karl has been taking control and making sure the vaccines and
supplies are properly stored and distributed to where they are
needed. That has made the difference in the program. MEDSOM folks
are up to their ears and are doing a great job, but a person like
Karl is needed to address the issues.

         12. POVs are absolutely necessary. They have been a GOD SEND.

                                          MAJ ROBERT ENG
