                   ORDER TO SUPPORT TF TARO SCREENING AND INFILTRATION OPERATIONS.

           1055:   IITH MARINES JUMP COMMAND POST (CP) OCCUPIED POSITION AT GRID
                   QS 528 469 AND ASSUMED CONTROL OF THE REGIMENT.


           1405:   1/12 DISPLACED AND OCCUPIED FIRING POSITIONS NEAR GRID QS 73 51, FIRING
                   CAPABLE (FIRECAP) READY AT 1712; MISSION DS TF TARO.

           2100:   1/11 OCCUPIED POSITIONS IN TF PAPA BEAR'S ASSEMBLY AREA AT GRID
                   QS 71 47; MISSION DS TF PAPA BEAR.

           21 February          Operation Desert Storm B-3. 3/12 fired for the first time
                                during the war in support of TF Grizzly who had
                                reconnaissance forces across the border. 5/11 occupied a
                                firing position just southwest of the border in preparation
                                to support the screening and clearing of the artillery
                                position areas short of the first Iraqi obstacle belt.
                                Further south, 3/11 occupied assembly area positions with TF
                                Ripper, the Division's main effort +or the assault breach.
                                In anticipation of Division operations in a chemical and
                                biological environment, the Division Commander directed that
                                all personnel begin taking the Nerve Agent Pretreatment
                                (NAP) pills and the Ciprofloxin (Cipro) antibiotic pills.
                                Specific noteworthy events included:

           0236:   3/12 FIRED TIME-ON-TARGET (TOT) MISSION IN SUPPORT OF TF GRIZZLY.


           0358:   3/1'@ FIRED TOT MISSION IN SUPPORT OF TF GRIZZLY.


           0915:   E/2/12 FIRED MISSION ON VEHICLES IN OPEN AT GRID TM 130 586 IN SUPPORT
                   OF TF TROY RECONNAISSANCE PERSONNEL. VEHICLES WERE DISPERSED BY 32
                   ROUNDS OF DPRCM.


           1236:   3/11 OCCUPIED POSITIONS IN TF RIPPER'S ASSEMBLY AREA AT GRID US 58 46
                   FIRECAP READY AT 1400; MISSION DS TF RIPPER.

           1640:   5/11 DISPLACED TO GRID QS 58 65, FIRECAP READY AT 1910; MISSION GS,
                   PRIORITY CALLS FOR FIRE TO TF GRIZZLY AND TF SHEPHERD.


           183F4:  DIVISION INSTRUCTED ALL PERSONNEL TO BEGIN TAKING NAP AND CIPRO PILLS.


           2047:   REGIMENTAL S-4 IDENTIFIES THAT HEAVY EQUIPMENT TRANSPORTS (HET)
                   PROVIDED BY DIVISION AS UNSUITABLE FOR TRANSPORTING ENGINEER EQUIPMENT
                   THROUGH BERM INTO KUWAIT.

           22 February          Operation Desert Storm 0-2. Early in the morning as 1/11
                                and the Regimental jump CP moved forward to positions along
                                the border, 1/12 engaged what was believed to be an Iraqi
                                armored reconnaissance force of 2 tanks and 3 BMPs moving
                                south just across the border. While awaiting Cobra support,
