          Subj: JOINT LETTER OF INSTRUCTION (LOI) FOR CASUALTIES
                  ASSOCIATED WITH OPERATION DESERT SHIELD

          10. To aid the CACO's in their task, the Base Chaplain's
          Office, the Family Service Center, and Base Legal Assistance
          Office, as well as the decedent affairs office at the NAVHOSP,
          stand ready to provide assistance as needed, and their phone
          numbers are provided in enclosure (2).

          11. Addressees designated by an asterisk (*) are requested to
          assign a point of contact (preferably the co3nmand/unit-Ad-7utant.-)
          and provide that individual's name, rank, SSN, work and home
          telephone numbers to the Base Adjutant by 14 January 1991. Each
          addressee is also requested to provide the Base Adjutant an
          alphabetical listing of.officers and Staff NCO's designated to
          perform CACO duties. Include their name, rank, SSN, work and
          home phone numbers as early as possible after 14 Tanuary 1991.
