         1. This letter establishes procedures for a consolidated
casualty assistance call program for FMF organizations, MCB
units, and tenant commands at Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton.

         2. A reduced number of personnel rdmain behind from deployments
to support operation Desert Shield. Only a few of these karines
have administrative backgrounds. Accordingly, the Base Adjutant
(in cooperation with FMF rear echelon commanders and tenant -
commanders) will coordinate base-wide for all casualty notifi-

deployed forces and their families in the geographical area of
Camp Pendleton as assigned by the CMC and 12th MCD. A single
point will ensure accurate gathering of casualty information,
coordination, and accountability, as well as thorough training,
efficient control, and timely dispatch of Casualty Assistance
         Call Officer (CACO) personnel.

as OIC; The Base Casualty Coordination Center (BCCC) will be
located in the Base Headquarters, building 1160, rooms 157 and
         159. Additional logistics requirements, such as phone lines
and stand-by transportation, will be funded and implemented by
MCB in the near future. Points of contact are Major 0. A. Daly
and/or MGySqt D. L. Carr. The following Base extensions are
