                        RIPPER'S  ZONE TO  ENABLE  TF  RIPPER TO REPOSITION UNITS
                        AWAY FROM  AMMUNITION/CHEMICAL HAZARD AREAS.



           28 February             All Division offensive operations ceased at
                                   0700, and units were instructed to discontinue
                                   taking PJAP and Cipro pills. Ilth Marines
                                   continued repositioning to consolidate and
                                   avoid hazardous ammunition and chemical dumps.
                                   Units continued to recover Traqi equipment and
                                   ammunition. Plans were developed for the
                                   retrograde of ammunition to the AmmuDition
                                   Supply Point at Mi-,hab and +or the recovery of
                                   ammunition left behind during the attack
                                   through Kuwait. Plans were also developed for
                                   the retrograde of the Ilth Marines on 4 March
                                   to the Division Support Area at Mani-Fa Bay.

               0700.-   DIVISION INSTRUCTED ALL UNITS TO CEASE OFFENSIVE
                        OPERATIONS.


               0748:    DIVISION INSTRUCTED ALL UNITS TC DISCONTINUE TAKING NAP
                        AND CIPRO PILLS.


               1010:    1/12 REPOSITIONED TO NEW FIRING POSITIONS NEAR GRID UT
                        80 28, FIRECAP
                        READY IN NEW POSITIONS AT 1208.

               1300:    5/11 REPOSITIONED TO NEW FIRING POSITIONS NEAR GRID UT
                        79 30, FIRECAP
                        READY IN NEW POSITIONS AT 1504.


               2142:    3/11 MAIN CP FDC DAMAGED BY A FIRE WITH ONE MARINE
                        OFFICER RECEIVING FIRST AND SECOND DEGRER BURNS AND ONE
                        HMMWV DESTROYED.
