      Subj:   NBC DEVERSE NASKING DRILL 28 DEC 90

      Ref:    (a) CG 3d MAW ltr 3400 NBC 25 Sep 90

      1. general. Reference (a) established NBC Defense protective
      measures and warning system for NBC attack/drill.

      2. There will be an NBC Defense masking drill on 28 Dec 90 between
      the hours of 0800-1200. The warning system will be activated in
      accordance with reference (a). The purpose of this drill is to
      exercise NBC protective measures responses over a short period of
      time while in a simulated SCUD alert status.

      3.   Action required after receiving warning:

           a.  Stop breathing
           b.  Mask
           c.  Give visual/vocal alarm
           d.  Seek overhead cover
           e.  If in air conditioned building (turn A/C off)
           f.  Unmasking is authorized 5,minutes after the warning is
               initiated.
           g.  continue normal operations

      4. Chemical protective overgarment (CPOG) will not be utilized
      during this exercise.

      5. Marine commanders will ensure all personnel in their co=and
      participate and are briefed on this exercise.
