be out spending Christmas Eve with troops. 5 U.S.C. 552

                                       our escor s ave wor
and the news media have that word; they understand that it
shouldn't be any problem. That's all I have, sir.

GEN BOOMER: I notice - I think it was the AP guy - described
Marines as "desert weary", and these guys were busting their ass
training, running up and down, climbing on tanks, in and out of
NBC gear. Desert wearyl That's okay; we know.

COL SHOTWELL: We got public affairs aspects of the Commandant's
visit under control, no surprises there?

COL SHOTWELL: I don't know if he knows for sure that we are not
setting anything up on the news media for him. I have the
handwritten memo that came down the chain I can show his aide as
   soon as he gets here.

GEN BOOMER: You confirmed that with CENTCOM?

COL SHOTWELL: Yes, sir. They were going to set up something for
Gen Bono as well. They had to back off that.

GEN BOOMER: Okay. I don't mind telling him, if you won't.

3D CAG: Morning, General. With the arrival of the members of 3d
CAG last night joining up with the members of 4th CAG who
arrived, we are now at 23 officers and 18 enlisted. That's all I
   have, sir. 5 U.S.C. 552 (b)(1)
CAPT HIRES: IIIIII for the staff in the G-4 conference
room at 1700 this evening, 0400 tomorrow.

LTCOL SILCOX: Gen Talleli and Col Sylvester appreciated the
visit Tuesday. Response from the staff and I think they were
delighted with the mission the MEF has in mind for them. He was
licking his chops when he left. Thank you, sir.

COL HASTINGS: I'd like to make a few introductions at this time.

GEN BOOMER: Sure. You got the names down?

COL HASTINGS: I hope. One thing for sure, I know they are not
generals; they are colonels. There's Col John Oppenhuizen -
A-41s and Blacksheep forever - and I think everybody knows Joe
Robbin. Joe's up here from Riyadh; and Col Scott is the MAG-26
forward; and Col Bob Coop, back from the wars in California, Co,
   MWSG-37.

           2d Division?

2D DIV: Col Sylvester also gave a call to Gen Keys yesterday.
we begin our preliminary planning with him. our concern is the
same ones magnified to us, it seems, that have been expressed
here, communications problems and how much of the COSCOM is going
