1/12 destroyed one B"P and turned this force to the
northwest. The engineer effort to improve firing position
areas near the border continued. lith 4arines engineers
also participated in cutting numerous holes in the beriline
just south of the border in order to allow the ground forces
to move unhindered into Kuwait. Battery "E* 2/12 continued
operations with @F Troy firing four missions destroying
several vehicles and observation posts. As the regiment
occupied final position areas short of the border, the
                                  organization .@o, combat was:

1/11: GS, Priority Calls for Fire TF Shepherd/TF Taro.
                                  3/11: DS TF Ripper.
5/11: GS, Priority Calls for Fire TF Shepherd/TF Grizzly.

                                  3/12: DS TF Grizzly.

Just before midnight as TF Grizzly prepared to begin
clearing across the border, 3/12 and 5/11 fired several long
range missions on the first obstacle bel@, to destroy some
Iraqi bunkers and psychologically harass the Iraqi
defenders. Because of the large expenditure of Rocket
Assisted Projectiles (RAP) required to support all the TF
Grizzly requests for fire and the extensive anticipated
requirement for RAP during the ground offensive, ilth
Marines instructed battalions to conserve RAP and requested
th;t Division impose RAP 'limitations on maneuver units. The
Assistant -Division Commander (ADC) concurred, and just after
midnight limited the expenditure of RAP for the remainder of
the night to counter.lire and emergency fire missions.
