Subject: Iraqi Possession of Chemical Agents

In July 1991, the U.N. Special Group learned that Iraq had 70 
chemical agents which are the most dangerous components of 
chemical weapons and which need special treatment during 
destruction to prevent leakage and spreading of the dangers 
associated with them. The information which Iraq provided the 
Group on biological weapons indicated that Iraq did not have 
biological weapons; however, there were factories and research 
centers for them.
