Subject: Iraqi Gas and Chemical Weapons

In December 1990, it was reported that Iraqi troops in Kuwait and 
along the Iraqi-Saudi and Kuwaiti-Saudi borders were equipped with 
chemical weapons and protective equipment. Iraqi troops on the 
Iraqi-Saudi border were equipped with gas and chemical equipment 
and chemical and gas bombs, some of which were fired from the 
ground and some by aircraft. These bombs reportedly contained 
mainly nerve gas, but also mustard, binary and nitrogen gases.
