Subject: Illnesses in Iraq

An outbreak of viral hepatitis throughout all of Iraq was on going 
in early September 1991.  At the same time, a high incidence of 
viral conjunctivitis was noted in children in the Aqrah and 
Sinkhan areas. Cases of malaria were found in the Dahuk 
Governorate where an out break of hepatitis had occurred in late 
August.
