Subject: Illnesses in Iraq

Cases of viral hepatitis, conjunctivitis, upper respiratory 
infections, and gastroenteritis were noted in the Irbil area of 
Iraq during early to mid-October 1991. Three cases of sus-
pected cholera in the area of Shaqlawah were confirmed during the 
same timeframe.
