Subj:  Hemorrhagic Fever

The Soviet medical industry sought to begin producing a new 
vaccine to combat Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever in the southern USSR 
in July 1990.  Cases of fever had also been detected in China, 
Bulgaria, Egypt, Iraq, Pakistan, and the United Arab Emirates.  
The need for the vaccine was expected to increase in all of these 
countries.  Production of the vaccine was to be based on 
technology developed in Bulgaria.
