            1 - - This memorandum establishes procedures for retirement
            of Desert Storm records as an except--on to AR 25-400-2,
            Modern Army RecordkeepinSr System-

            2. To protect national interests, certain information
            ass-,mes increased importance during hostil-e operat-@<)ns.
            Procedures have been developed to alleviate the
            administrative burden on combat and combat support un--"s
            and to easu@re that this information is preserved- This
            me.mo-@andu.a pertains to all records, regardless of med4-a;
            i-e., paper, magne@lic tane; electronic, microform, optical
            disk.

            3. visual information (VI) records (still and motion)
            will be sent to CI-NC4--N@@ CCJ3 (Combat Camera) for
            processing and disposition.

            4. if units have a home station, records (other
            than VI) should be sen" back to that home station, on a
            monthly basis if poss4.ble, or when not needed for c-arrent
            operations. This will ensure '@..at units have records for
            tiieir use when the operation is over- if there is no home
            sluation or other problems exist, send records to
            USAISC-Pentagon (ASQNS-OP-P), Room 1146, Hoffman Building,
            A-,-exa-idriaL, VA 2233-t-0301. Reclu'3-rements of ILR 25-400-2
            are waived and "he following procedures aoply: -

                a. -Ship records in any suitable container. If
            possible, preoare an inventory an SF 135; otherwise, a
            handwritten, ,claim paper inventory will suffice.

                b. S'late -,-nit name, address, and point of contact and
