ANNEX T (Medical) to Part I of V/Vil (uS) Corps Field Standing
operating Procedures (u)
The major tactical commander can direct the medical units to
conceal the RZD CROSS (para Si, AR 750-58). The corps commander
may delegate this to the division commander.
(2) Geneva Convention markings on AMEDD aircraft and
vehicles will not be covered or obliterated in any manner during
aircraft/vehicle operations.
(3) To preclude violation of the Geneva Convention,
medical units/personnel will not be employed in any combat
operation, either offensive or defensive, except for the
provision of medical care or unit self defense to include
protection of patients.
b. Specialized areas of medical support are described as
indicated:
(1) Evacuation (See APPENDIX 1.)
(2) Hospitalization (See APPENDIX 2.)
(3) Dental Service (See APPENDIX 3.)
(4) Medical Supply (See APPENDIX 4.)
(5) Preventive medicine (See APPENDIX 5.)
(6) Whole Blood (See APPENDIX 6.)
(7) Veterinary Service (See APPENDIX 7.)
c. Coordination is the responsibility of both supporting and
supported units. Generally the supported unit should contact the
supporting unit at Simple Alert to complete coordination for
evacuation and logistics support; e.§. Division Surgeon/DISCOM
Surgeon coordinates with supporting medical group.
d. Medical laboratory facilities will be established IAW
USAREUR and 7th Army FSOP to provide theater-wide support to
include:
(1) Laboratory Examination.
(2) 'Epidemiological studies.
(3) Detection and identification of nuclear, biological
'and chemical agents and their actual or probable health hazards
to personnel.
