                                       IX. SMALT@ ARMS,


             1. General. Small arms such as AX-47, RPK, STERLING SMG and up
             to .50 cal can be easily destroyed.

             2. Destruction of small arms using conventional munitions.

                 a. Place at least one M112,C4 block parallel to the receiver
             group. Objective: Destroy receiver.

             NOTE: THE USE OF TNT INSTEAD OF C4 WILL REQUIRE A 50% INCREASE IN
             EXPLOSIVE WEIGHT OF TNT TO OBTAIN AN EQUIVALENT EFFECT.

                 b. Place one thermite grenade on top of the receiver group.
             Objective: Melt and weld the receiver group.

             3. Destruction of small arms using unconventional methods.

                 a. Pile weapons away from other flammable materials and cover
             with diesel fuel/oil mixture and ignite. Procedure is the same as
             for mortars, RPG and recoiless rifles.

                 b. Bend the barrels of the smaller weapons like AK's or SKS's
             in a arc of 45 degrees or greater. Use the bumper on the HUMMWV,
             track drive wheels or any similiar device that allows maximum use
             of leverage.
