111. ARTILLET
1. General. Iraq has both self propelled and towed artillery
weapon systems. Priority for destruction is the breach assembly,
gun tube and where applicable the engine.
2. Identification.

3. Destruction of self propelled artillery using conventional
munitions.
a. With ammunition onboard, place at least two M112,C4 blacks
on the ammunition in the ammunition rack located inside the
turrent area. objective: Detonate the remaining ammunition
which will cause secondary fires and render the equipment
inoperable.
b. Without ammunition onboard, place two or more M112,C4
blocks around the breach hinges. objective: Warp or destroy the
breach assembly.
c. Place at least two M112, C4 blocks on the top center line
of engine. objective: Destroy engine.
NOTE: THE USE OF TNT INSTEAD OF C4 WILL REQUIRE A 50% INCREASE IN
EXPLOSIVE WEIGHT OF TNT TO OBTAIN AN EQUIVALENT EFFECT.
d. Place no less then three AN-Ml4, TH-3 thermite grenades,
taped together, inside the breech and close the breech.
objective: weld the breech block closed to the gun tube.
a. Destroy using direct fire same as for Main Battle Tank.
NOTE: DO NOT APPROACH A BURNING ARMORED VEHICLE.
